The Gasworks Singers
The Gasworks Singers are an offshoot of the Gasworks Choir, mainly consisting of those who have been in the choir for a while. Directed by Dee Jarlett, they perform original arrangements by Ali and Dee for local charity and arts events, festivals and private parties. Their repertoire is up-beat pop songs, folk and world music.
If you have an event in the Bristol area where you'd like the Singers to perform, please email Dee on firstname.lastname@example.org

Singers have been sorely missed
Bristol Gasworks Singers Nailsworth Festival concert reviewed by Jane Leigh.
IT’S a couple of years since the Gasworks Singers were in town, and the audience at this concert showed these 35 singers they have been missed – and they are welcome back any time.
The acoustics of St George’s proved perfect for the singers’ eclectic programme ranging from jazz and madrigals, to world music from Nigeria and Bulgaria, to new and old pop songs.
And the evening sun flooding in through the west window put a natural spotlight on the singers’ sea of red and orange, adding a visual warmth to the vocal joy pouring out from these talented visitors.
This was a warm and enthusiastic event, with the first half featuring all 35 of the group, and the second half including set pieces from the women, followed by the male voices, showcasing the virtuosity of the choir.
My personal highlights were the evocative You Don’t Know What Love Is (a hauntingly-beautiful song of the sea), an uproarious version of Jessie J’s It’s Not About the Money, and the encore of Minnie the Moocher.
But there wasn’t a duff note to be heard all night, and the singers’ obvious pleasure in their efforts was contagious, sending everyone home with a song in their heart.
Thank you, Gasworks Singers, and come back soon.
